Improving Flow in Healthcare
Learn to create continuous flow in healthcare
This 2.5-day interactive workshop uses experiential hands on learning techniques and relevant hospital examples to guide participants in practicing newly acquired process improvement knowledge and skills explicit to hospital care. In addition, you’ll receive personalized coaching and performance feedback provided by expert instructors versed in clinical and administrative process improvement excellence.
Teams consisting of health care providers, leaders, and clinical team members are empowered to improve flow by learning to reduce wait times, increase quality, and remove non-value-added activities from their day. Through the development of effective standard practices, participants learn to foster a high-functioning team environment, improve economic performance, and ultimately, improve both patient and staff satisfaction.
This workshop will give you an understanding of:
- discrete principles, methods, and tools of the Virginia Mason Production System®.
- how application of foundational elements assist in achieving flow.
- how designing processes with cross-functional teams help reduce bottlenecks from admission to discharge
- and after this workshop you will be able to apply the observation tools and methods to improve, test and standardize processes.
